Oriental Financial names two new senior executives

Oriental Financial Group has appointed Norberto Gonzalez and Ganesh Kumar into new and expanded senior executive positions as EVP and chief risk officer and EVP and CFO respectively.

Gonzalez and Kumar will report to Jose Rafael Fernandez, CEO and vice chairman of the board of directors' Oriental group with effect from 1 February 2012.

Gonzalez is currently serving as EVP and CFO where he joined Oriental in 2003 and has been working as CFO since 2006.

In his new role, Gonzalez will be responsible for enterprise risk management, asset and liability management, compliance, internal audit, loan review, loss-share and regulatory relationships.

Kumar will be in new EVP and COO position, which includes corporate finance, strategic planning, accounting and reporting, and business analytic, in addition to this he will continue to manage the wealth management business and administrative functions.

Kumar is currently serving as EVP and COO where he joined Oriental in 2004, and has been COO since 2009.
